TERMS & CONDITIONS

Version 2026.4 — published 3 October 2026. These terms replace all earlier versions published on shohokari.com.

Updated 3 October 2026: online payments are held until the job is done. These changes apply to payments made from 10 October 2026 (00:00, Bangladesh time). From then, a payment made through Shohokari is held in the bank account of Asian Information Technology Ltd. and released to the helper when you confirm the job is done, or 3 days after the helper marks it done if you have not reported a problem; if you report a problem first, we decide whether to release it to the helper or refund it to you (sections 4, 5 and 10). Payments made before 10 October 2026 are not held, and cash payments are never held.

Updated 29 September 2026: the service fee also applies to cash jobs from 6 October 2026. For an offer made on or after 6 October 2026 (00:00, Bangladesh time), the service fee is due whether the customer pays through Shohokari or in cash. On a cash job the helper collects the full price and pays the fee to Shohokari within 7 days of the task being completed (section 4). Offers made before 6 October 2026 keep fee-free cash settlement.

Updated 27 September 2026: service fee 7.5% from 4 October 2026. From 00:00 on 4 October 2026 (Bangladesh time) the service commission on payments made through Shohokari is 7.5% of the accepted price. Offers made before 4 October 2026 keep the 2.5% commission, even if they are paid later (section 4). Nothing else in these terms changed; version 2026.1 was in effect from 1 September 2026.

These terms are an agreement between you and Asian Information Technology Ltd. (“Shohokari”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in Bangladesh at 17 New Eskaton Road, 3rd Floor, Dhaka 1000, trade licence TRAD/DSCC/233370/2019. By using shohokari.com you accept them.

The short version. Shohokari is a place where people who need something done meet people who can do it. We are not your employer, not your agent, and not a party to the work. The two of you agree the job and the price; Shohokari charges a service fee on the accepted price — 7.5% from 4 October 2026, or 2.5% if the offer was made before 4 October 2026. When you pay through the site we deduct it from the helper’s payout, and for a payment made from 10 October 2026 we hold the payment until the job is done; for an offer made on or after 6 October 2026, the fee is also due when you settle in cash, and the helper pays it to us.

1. What Shohokari is, and is not

Shohokari is a marketplace. Customers post tasks; helpers offer to do them. When an offer is accepted, the resulting agreement is between the customer and the helper. We are not a party to it.

We do not employ helpers, supply labour, or act as anyone’s agent. We do not supervise, direct or control how a task is carried out. We do not guarantee that any task will be completed, or completed to any standard.

2. Who may use Shohokari

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract in Bangladesh. One account per person. You are responsible for everything done through your account, so keep access to your email and phone secure.

We may refuse, suspend or close an account where these terms are broken, where we are required to by law, or where we reasonably believe an account is being used to harm someone.

3. Helpers

If you offer services on Shohokari, you confirm that you:

  • have the right to work and to provide those services in Bangladesh;
  • hold any licence, registration or permit that the work requires;
  • are responsible for your own taxes, and for your own tools, transport and insurance;
  • will do the work yourself, or tell the customer if someone else will.

You are an independent worker, not our employee. Nothing here creates employment, partnership or agency.

4. Money

You and the helper agree the price. There are two ways to settle:

  • Cash, directly to the helper. Always allowed. For an offer made on or after 6 October 2026 (00:00, Bangladesh time), the service fee is still due: the helper collects the full price from the customer and pays Shohokari the fee at the offer’s rate (7.5% of the accepted price for offers made from 4 October 2026) within 7 days of the task being marked complete, using the payment details we give them. For an offer made before 6 October 2026, cash settlement is fee-free. The customer never pays the fee on a cash job; it is the helper’s.
  • Through Shohokari, using our payment gateway. We collect the agreed amount and keep a service commission of 7.5% of the accepted price for an offer made on or after 4 October 2026 (00:00, Bangladesh time); the helper is owed the remaining 92.5%. For an offer made before 4 October 2026 the commission is 2.5% and the helper is owed 97.5%, even if the payment is made later — the rate is fixed by the date of the offer, not the date of payment. We pay the helper’s share out to them separately — for a payment made from 10 October 2026, once the payment has been released (see below).

Unpaid fees on cash jobs. The amount a helper owes is shown in their account. If a fee is more than 7 days overdue, we may stop the helper from making new offers until it is paid. We record every fee we receive against the task it belongs to.

Online payments are held until the job is done. These changes apply to payments made from 10 October 2026 (00:00, Bangladesh time); a payment made before then is not held. When you pay through Shohokari, the payment is received into the bank account of Asian Information Technology Ltd. (the company that runs Shohokari — “we”, see the top of these terms). It is not held by the payment gateway or a bank escrow service. We hold it there and do not pass it to the helper straight away. It is released to the helper when:

  • you confirm the job is done (the “Job done — release payment” or “Yes, all done” button on the task), or
  • 3 days have passed since the helper marked the job done and you have not reported a problem.

If you report a problem before it is released, the payment stays held and is not released automatically. We look at what both of you send us and decide whether to release it to the helper or refund it to you under our Return & Refund Policy. The helper’s share (the accepted price minus the service commission) becomes payable to them only once the payment is released.

Cash payments are not held — they go straight between you and the helper.

There is no subscription, no listing fee, and no charge for posting a task or making an offer.

Card and wallet details are entered on the payment gateway’s own systems and never reach ours.

5. Cancelling, refunds and delivery

Refunds, and the times within which a task should be started, are set out in our Return & Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms. In summary: approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 7 to 10 working days, and a task should be started within 5 days inside Dhaka or 10 days elsewhere unless you have agreed a different date.

A payment that is still held can be refunded to the original payment method if the task is cancelled or a problem you reported is upheld; once a payment has been released to the helper, a refund is a matter between you and the helper under the Return & Refund Policy.

6. Verification and badges

We verify a helper’s mobile number by sending a code to it. Some helpers additionally display badges — National ID checked, police verification, business registration, trade certification. A badge records a claim a helper has made and we have seen evidence for. It is not a guarantee by us about that person’s honesty, competence or safety.

We do not check qualifications, insurance or criminal records unless a badge expressly says so. Satisfy yourself before you let anyone into your home or hand over money.

7. Your safety and your judgement

Meeting someone from the internet carries risk. Use your judgement: read the profile and reviews, meet in a sensible place, tell someone where you are going, and stop if something feels wrong. Shohokari cannot supervise what happens between two people offline and does not accept responsibility for it.

8. What you must not do

  • Post anything false, unlawful, abusive, obscene, or intended to deceive.
  • Ask for or offer anything illegal.
  • Impersonate someone, or use another person’s identity documents.
  • Harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone.
  • Scrape the site, or use it to send unsolicited marketing.
  • Try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to our systems.

9. Content you post

What you write and upload stays yours. You give us permission to display it on Shohokari so the service can work. Do not post anything you do not have the right to post. We may remove content that breaks these terms, and we may hide a task that is reported enough times while we look at it.

10. Reports and disputes

If a task goes wrong, either side can open a dispute from the task page. We record and review disputes. While a dispute about an online payment is open, the payment stays held and is not released automatically; we may also suspend accounts. For a disputed online payment that is still held, we look at what both of you send us and decide whether to release it to the helper or refund it to you. For everything else we do not mediate, arbitrate or decide who is right — that is between you, and ultimately a matter for the courts.

11. Our liability

Shohokari is provided as it is. We do not promise the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or withdraw features.

We are not liable for the acts or omissions of any customer or helper, for the quality, safety or legality of any task, or for any loss arising out of an agreement between two users. Where we are liable to you, our total liability is limited to the commission we actually received on the task in question.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Closing your account

You can close your account at any time from your account settings. We will remove your public profile; we keep a limited record of completed tasks and payments as described in the Privacy Policy. Closing an account does not cancel an agreement you have already made with someone.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version published on this page applies from the date shown at the top, and we will give notice of a material change by email or in the app. Continuing to use Shohokari after a change means you accept it.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh. The courts of Bangladesh have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them. Amounts are in Bangladeshi taka (৳).
