Our founder's story

No job is too small. No person is too small.

Liya started Shohokari because of something she could not accept: in a city full of work waiting to be done, people with real skills are made to feel small for doing it.

Dhaka runs on hands. The electrician who comes at night when the power trips. The person who turns a dusty flat into a home. The driver, the tutor, the plumber, the cook. The city needs them every single day, yet too many of them are looked down on, and too many young people walk away from work they could be proud of, because of what others might say.

To Liya, that is absolutely preposterous. In this age, looking down on honest work makes no sense. There is no such thing as a small job, only work that needs doing and people with the skill and the willingness to do it.

So she built Shohokari around one idea: power to the people. Everyone on Shohokari is a সহকারী, an assistant: someone with a skill, an ability, and the willingness to help another person get something done. Not "just labour". An assistant, with a name, a profile, reviews, and the right to set their own price.

Her mission is simple to say and hard to do: bring opportunity to people, so they can earn with dignity from the work the city badly needs, and help a whole country see every kind of work as worthy of respect.
